Phone photos

I connected my phone to my computer using bluetooth for the the first time today, and found some photos I'd taken. The photographs I take with my phone are so different to the ones I take with a camera. With the phone I just want to record something – an interesting place or texture or shape, a funny incident – so that I can remember it later. They're not good photographs in terms of composition or image quality, but in a way they're the better for it. I look at them and know immediately why I took them. The memory of what I was photographing is stronger than the image.

F***ing pointless

Just read a good article by David Marsh in The Guardian concerning a pet hate of mine – the use of asterisks to "conceal" offensive language. The "Mind your Language" blog is usually pretty interesting, another gem is this article on units of measurement.
